M I S S I N G what Kylie wouldn't give for one more listen

*sigh* Back in our day the music was good..alot different than the stuff we hear today. We played a small part in the "booty mix" music era that was provided by us with crews such as Uncle Luke, Kilo Ali, and the 69 Boyz. Say you don't dance? I gurantee you this was the type of music that would have brung out the freak in you. Time progressed and music once again transformed into something greater. These are a few faces that have seemed to dissapear over the years..these are a few songs that we would kill for just one listen...these are the joys of our childhood.

Faces we'll never forget...

Lil Bow wow...let me say that again. LITTLE Bow wow. Not the douche we know today. Young Shad Moss. He was every girls dream guy. He was sooo cute, and he could rap. Smh, this boy used to be the hottest thing out. Do you all remeber his first movie "Like Mike"? I saw it twice. lol.

B2k. Damn, these boys used to be hot shit too.The group contained of four soft voiced, sexy ass, dancing teenagers. lol. From right to left their names were J-Boog, Ras B, Omarion, and Lil Fizz.  Everyone had a favorite and J-Boog was definately mine. I remember when they came out with that movie "You Got Served"..who didn't go to the movies to see it? EVERYBODY. This was one of the first dance battle movies.

SN: its funny too me now because when i watch this movie..i'm actually kind of turned off by its corniness and poor acting cast..but it was hot back then. lol.

I decided to put the original group and the later altered group which included Michelle Williams because both of these mixups were nothing short of phenomenal. I couldn't even give you one song just to listen to. Just know that "Writings on the Wall" and "Destiny's Fulfilled" cd's were both epic. These girls used to jam and their songs to this day are still nothing less than classics.

"I'm getting real tired of your broken promises, promises." I might have not been able to relate to this song then, but I know it's one of my anthems now. lol. These ladies had a very short career but put out two truth spitting hits. I means hits that you can definately relate to with these trifling boys. These were some deep 14 year olds. lol. They also played a role on another short lived Nickelodeon series called "Taina", which had a kickass theme song.

One of my favorite artist. These men right here were nothing short of lyrical geniuses. They spoke truth and truly moved crowds with their creative words and sensational beats. I remeber the day they announced to the world that they were breaking up and each created one cd; Andre 3000's "The Love Below" and Big Boi's "Speakerboxx". This duo definately takes up a large portion of space on my ipod and their hits have taken many slots of several playlist. I love these guys! =)

This is my girl. I love her! She is definately a breath of fresh air and her lyrics are so inspiring. She was definately one of the female lyricist who helped paved the way for the younger generation..and even though they try, no one will live up to her legacy.

Missy Elliot used to be the queen of the fast paced sounds and crafty lyrical combinations. She would get on a track and murder anybody's song with her remix and she just seemed like someone who just so fun to be around. She always held some top ten spot on BET's 106 &Park..you know, back when Free and Aj held things down. I wonder where she is now...

This group had girls all around the world taking a stand against scrub ass niggas. Another wonderful group of girls. R.I.P to Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez. I know this group would still be out producing the hits that we love to this day.

Reconize this group of crazy guys? This is the Atlanta born group, D4l. This was one of the groups that helped take us from those "throw it up in the club" to the lets dance phase. They came out with so many musical jams. Played out now..but if you were still to play their albulm now, you will get that smile on your face as you reminisce about where you were when you first heard that track.

Number one song..topping all of the hip hop charts. I don't know many of their songs because this group also lived a very short career, but their one hit "Knuck if you Buck" was a nation club anthem. Many fights were started in the club off the mere beat drop of this song being played over the speakers.lol.

These real life brothers were staight fools. The first men to get on a track..whisper throughtout the entire song..and kill it.! They were definately trend setters with their club bangers..most of which can still be played in the club and still get the whole crowd moving and exclaiming "this used to be my song!"

Pretty Ricky. I was definately a fan. I used to sit up all day and repeat the same songs over and over. I had their cd's, posters, bootleg's, I even made a mix of all of my favorite songs. I also went to the Glow In The Dark Tour Concert and met them..real cool guys by the way lol. I will only speak on the old Pretty Ricky..not their new group with Buttacreame..or whatever his name is. They made sensational slow jams and their music wasn't just aimed for the ladies..the boys were also fans of the group's music. A truly talented music quartet.

Things we want back!

I don't know about you all but i'm a 90's baby and i think the 90's were the best. For those of you late comers who may not remember..this was the era of the greatest cartoons of all time. Back when Nickelodeon was straight shitting on disney. Back when i would wake up at the crack of dawn just to start off my staurday mornings with my favorite cartoons. Now i sleep in just to avoid the bull. Let me take you on a trip down memory lane..Back when tv had a little more substance, and story lines were alot more craftier than Spongebob. *gasp* hard to believe right? -___-. hope you caught that sarcasm.

Cartoons we Craved

Reconize Tommy Pickels and the gang? Thats right Rugrats. This show used to be my inspiration for living. I had the movies, books, pajama sets, i think i even had a rugrats birthday cake. lol. This is just how epic it was. To brief you, Rugrats was about the main character Tommy Pickles and his pals Phil, Lil, Chuckie, and his cousin Angelica and their many adventures throughout childhood. I'm telling you, it's good stuff.

This right here is my main man Doug Funnie from Nickelodeon's Doug. His tv show went into the life of a simple teenager trying to make his way through highschool dealing with family, his best friend Skeeter, the school bully, and the girl he loved, Patty Mayonaise.

Yea i did it..Dragon Ball Z. Don't flex like you have never watched this show. After school i would crab me a bag of my favorite 30 cent chips and sit in front of the tv and catch its latest episode. I can't even tell you what it was about but just know it was good. lol. You know how these anime shows have so much going on..so many characters..yea. It was one of those, but a good watch nonetheless.

Well look who it is. Reconize this face? Its little Eliza from The Wild Thornberry's. This show had so much action and such detailed story lines. I especially like how you could watch it and learn a little something new every episode. It told of the story of a young girl named Eliza Thornberry who was given the power to talk to animals. Which in particular was very cool since her father was a animal documentist and her family traveled all around the world just to tape his shows. They also had a pet monkey named Darwin who was super cool and a little wild boy.lol. So much entertainment trapped into a 30 minute window..how did they do it!

Fighting crime..trying to save the world..here they come just in time..The PowerPuff Girls. What female at the age of 7 did not want to be one of these crime fighting suprhero's, I always wanted to be Buttercup (the green one). The background behind this story was that their father..aka the Professor made them one day in the lab by accidentally spilling chemical X into the mix of sugar, spice, and everything nice. Thus creating the city of townsville 3 crime fighting kinegarten superheros, Blossom (pink), Bubbles (blue), and Buttercup (green).

Movies we mimicked

Welcome to Good Burger..home of the Good Burger..can I take your order? This movie is a f'n classic. There wasn't a child in this era who wasn't walking around enjoying this infamous quote or dying to see it at any given opportunity. What was it about? I couldn't even tell you..just know its freaking hilarious. Hit up your nearest Blockbuster and go check it out. I promise you won't be dissapointed.

Wow. Speaking of childhood favorites. Here's the journey of 8 little kids doing things that little kids do best. lol. Its totally cute and hilarious and its defiantely been ages since i've viewed this classic. Shoot, while I'm referring you all to check out some of these movies, i need to be doing the same.

"Oh Mr. Wilson!" lol. Damn that was a bad little boy. He used to do everything. A little devil in training, but who could ever be mad at him. With eyes that bright and a smile that big, he always got off the hook quick when he stirred up trouble. A good heart felt comedy that the whole family will enjoy.

I used to love this movie. Oh the struggle of the youth and their barbaric attempts just to be accepted by the older class. Really good movie.

Hocus Pocus. =). To this day i still look forward to Halloween when Disney decides to play all of these classic scary movies. This is the story of three withches that were accidentally arose from the grave. Its the perfect thriller for the youth. With magic, trickery, mummies, witches, and hey, there's even a talking cat! Its a perfect movie to cuddle up with your cutie and enjoy, and did i fail to mention they had a banging soundtrack..yea, it's definately a winner.

An all time American favorite. If you haven't seen this movie then you are definately living in the dark ages but even then I bet you've heard about it. One of the funniest movie of all time. It has love, comedic attributes, loss, sympathy, friendship..and we love it because its so damn quirky. A story of a man named Forest who sits on a park bench and tells a stranger his complete life story.

The cutest movie ever. I used to wish that someone would try to break into my house just so i could get creative like him and get them out. This movie was a comedic action film and a definate family winner. A story of a young boy left behind on a family trip during the christmas holiday, who tries to save his house against neighborhood thieves. He does this by putting his little mind to work and plotting up excellent diversions to keep the criminals out.

On The Radar: Theophilus London

When everyone in the industry is aiming to please the masses with catchy beats, mediocre lyrics, and the dreaded auto-tune, Theophilus London has managed to showcase what raw talent really is. Why we like his music? His sound is labeled the cliched "breath of fresh air", its a compilation of the New York City hipster scene, pop, and rap. He's still considered underground, which in my opinion is sometimes when an artist is at their best, musically. Not to say that being mainstream is all bad, I'm just tired of radio bullsh*t and watching the same videos on MTV. Still not convinced? You don't have to take my word for it, but he's f*cking cool and SN: he's got style. ;-)

BIPOLAR WEATHER SANDWICHES

We found a new gay!!! OMG! So since we introduced you guys to Luan and there were some "blog thieves" (YEA YOU!)...we had to move on to Kingsley. He's loud and he lives by one of our favorite quotes "keep it hateful or keep it moving." Not to mention he's HI-larious. But we still love you Luan
*muah kisses muah*!

Guilty Pleasure: Coon Tunes

Alright, Alright, Alright, we admit it...we're all well-rounded individuals. We're eclectic if you need an adjective to describe our taste. However, we do enjoy our "coon tunes". What are coon tunes? Its music labeled "ratchet" to say the least, the lyrical content isn't mainstream or up to par with grammy-award winning artists. Also known as ringtone rap. Its the music that you'll find assholes dancing to in hallways. -_____- Nonetheless, when you're riding around East Atlanta or you've got the sudden urge to "baow"...coon tunes are the way to go. Here's our playlist...DON'T JUDGE US!

The Sh*t I Rock I'd Die For

This Week: Chanel ;-)

Sure you've seen the logo, you've spotted the fashion forward socialite carrying your dream bag, but what do you really know about Chanel? First off, its a Parisian fashion label started by the fashion ICON Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel. Chanel is classic and timeless, it captures everything you want to be in each one of their items. We love it because it SCREAMS "class" and class never goes out of style.
